The Proposal

jeffery & i had been talking about getting married pretty fast into our relationship. both of our parents only dated between 2-3 weeks before getting engaged, so i guess it seemed fitting for us to the same right haha? i know lot's of people thought we were crazy, heck we had the same thoughts! but we prayed & it just seemed like the right thing to do. & we couldn't be happier with our decision!!
we had gone ring shopping {any girl that does not say that it is entirely awkward is lying!} but it was fun & exciting all at the same time of course. i mean hello, an entire room with shiny objects? yes, please. i wasn't expecting anything soon when we went. we were simply just going to go just for fun and get some ideas. buying a ring is a pretty big deal...at least in my book it is! while we were looking we also ran into his oldest brother and sister-in-law. can you say awkward?! anyways, {i get easily sidetracked, welcome to my scatter-brained blog.} after we looked at rings, things started to move even faster. the meeting of his parents via Skype, they live on the east coast. asking my father. it was quite funny. but i wont bore you with that story haha. then telling my brothers & sister. actually that was even funnier! after all that fun stuff was done i still wasn't thinking about it. probably because i like surprises too much & i didn't want to overthink it. but i always do, it's in my nature!
monday night was just like any other one. we just hung out on the couch talking for hours before it was time for him to go home. he then got his phone out to call me, it was weird because i was sitting right next him, but i answered. something that you should know about me is that i am kind of old fashioned and i that i am very controlling/perfectionist. it's bad. at this point i was saying that we still had never gone on an official date yet because he had never a) called me over the phone or b) actually said the words "will you go on a date with me?". i know, i'm that annoying girl. but hey i think it's nice to be treated like a lady sometimes haha. over the phone, still sitting right next me, he asked me to go on a date to the boise art museum. i was so happy when he asked because i had been wanting to go now for awhile, and they had this new elephant exhibit that i was just dying to see. i love elephants. he then left for the night.
tuesday after work i hurried home and got ready for this big date! you could say i was really excited to seem some elephants :). he picked me up and seemed in a hurry but was still very calm. i guess the museum closes at like 4:30 so we only had like 30 min to even enjoy it. the museum was amazing and the elephants did not fail one bit ;). afterwards we went to our typical tuesday date dinner place. red robin. YUM! {every tuesday after we went to our institute class we would go grab a bite to eat at red robin} it was a little early for dinner but he instated that we eat now. after a delicious huge burger and bottomless fries we made our way out. he was still as cool as a cucumber. at this point it was around 5:30 & our class didn't start til i think 7. so of course i wondered what the next big thing was going to be? he said nothing. me, being the brat that i am, i was a little upset that he didn't plan something before class. so he "came up" with idea to look at places to shoot some engagements when the time came. we were thinking of a couple places downtown anyways so he took me to the boise train depot. honestly i wasn't impressed because that is where everyone goes. but he once again insisted. at this point you would think i would catch on to what was happening. no i am oblivious. we went to the cute little bench that overlooks the city and just sat there in the cold and talked. jeffery then said they had made me something {again no idea what is happening} and all i could think was ok thanks but where is it? because he didn't have anything with him. so i figured that he was just saying it and would give it me later. also i told him if he were to propose someone had to be there taking pictures so naturally i looked around for someone haha. didn't see anyone but, he reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out a ring. a black twist tie ring. i told him earlier that i would be fine with just a twist tie haha. so he put the ring on my finger and asked me to marry him! of course i said yes :). after that i figured oh how sweet jeffery just asked me to marry him. lets take a moment and enjoy this! nope. jeffery quickly got up and took my hand and again said that we should look around the place and see what kind of places it has to take pictures. i was kinda annoyed. i felt like he ruined a good moment haha. so we were talking and then as we turned the back corner of the building i saw turquoise and white balloons! {again still oblivious} i said something about how cute it's someone's birthday. im an idiot haha. then he looked at me, the way he always does. then i realized that they were for me! the moment that i had always pictured was happening to me! we walked over the balloons and low and behold was this beautiful beautiful ring!! he asked me again to marry him, after me telling him to get on his knee haha. after that out came our friend garrison who took pics and video!
so in alllllll jeffery did a really good job! surprise? check. date? check. photographer? check. good time to call friends and family? check. perfect ring? check. one crazy happy girl? check. check. check! how many of you can say that you got engaged on your first date? ;)

the man behind the camera! we love you garrison!
